The leg goes in the middle, the bug ends up in the ring
An interceptor is a plastic dish with a well for the leg and a moat around it. A bed bug walks up the rough outside wall, drops into the moat and cannot climb the slick inside wall back out. It works the same in the other direction: a bug coming down from the bed lands in the ring.
Standard cups take round or slim legs. Square feet, block legs and sofa feet usually need an XL cup. Count every leg of every bed before you pick a pack: a queen frame with a center support can stand on six or seven.

Questions
Questions about bed bug interceptors at Bed Bug Blocker
Do Bed Bug Blocker interceptors use any pesticide?
No. A cup works by its slick inside wall, and some makers add a thin film of talc, which Texas A&M notes is not toxic to bed bugs.
Where else can you put an interceptor cup?
Under sofas, recliners and upholstered chairs, and anywhere under the bed. Texas A&M counts two cups for each sofa and recliner when you want to watch them.
How do you clean your interceptor cups?
Tip them into a smooth-sided plastic tub so nothing climbs out, wipe the inside wall, and set them back. The EPA advises a check every week.
