Your box spring goes into a cover that closes three ways: a zipper, a strip of hook-and-loop over it, and an inner flap that sits behind the seam. The outer layer is waterproof and stain resistant, so a spilled glass or a wet night stays on the surface instead of soaking into the frame below.
